I will hope continually, and will praise You yet more. - Psalm 71:14
Happy New Year! 2026 is here; a new year with new possibilities and new blessings from God. It is a fresh start and a new day; a day to look forward and seek new things from Him for He is good.
Maybe 2025 wasn’t a great year for you. Maybe you made some mistakes or some things happened that took the wind out of your sails. Maybe, you stopped dreaming a bit, but don’t lose hope. God is still at work. He still has a plan for your life. He can still turn a setback into a comeback.
In my devotions this week, Charles Stanley wrote:
Keep dreaming. Trust God for the future and seek His goals for your life. A person who isn’t motivated or inspired - who doesn’t keep aspiring for more - is not going to enjoy life for very long. Of course, you may think, “At this point, I don’t see anything to dream about.” Why? I understand that sometimes setbacks and limitations can be disheartening. But you still have life and potential in you. And what it comes down to is a matter of attitude - you’ve got to have hope and something to work toward.
Give God the privilege of laying out your future. Trust the Lord to work in your life in the way He desires. And don’t underestimate Him or yourself. You can do anything God calls you to do. So keep dreaming and expect Him to do great things.
This year at Bridges, we are dreaming and expecting Him to do great things. Why? Because He is a great God!
That is why we are starting 2026 with 40 Days of Prayer. 40 days of sanctified and consecrated listening, praying, praising, confessing, dreaming and asking. We will be listening for God to direct our prayers, and then praying for Him to accomplish what He is inspiring in our hearts.
What will He say to you?
From January 1 through February 9, 40 days, start each day at 6:08 AM on your knees or stop at 6:08 PM on your knees and seek God. Seek His will for your life and offer Him your life. Our daily prayer will be… “Here I am. Send Me - Here I am, Jesus, send me off in the direction you want to go. Show me your path. I want to be blessed and to bless others. Lead me. Guide me, Show me. Fill me. I want to see You.”
2026 can be a year of new life! A year of impact. A year of growth. A year of possibility. A year of seeking the face of God and finding Him.
Let’s start the new year off right.
Each Thursday night, from January 1 - February 5, the church will be open for prayer. You can pray alone or someone will be there to pray for and with you. This will be a time to seek God with all of our hearts. We need to see the work of God in our lives. We want to see the work of God in our lives. So pray alone or come pray with others. Just seek Him with all your heart.
It starts with prayer with hearts that really do want to see God. It starts with a people who want more in their lives - more joy, more peace, more fruit, more impact, more of Jesus.
2026 can be a year of seeing God at work! Start with Prayer!
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. - Jeremiah 29:13
