To those who remember the events of 9/11, there is a sense of a life before 9/11 and a life after 9/11.  The life before was more innocent, less complicated, less fearful, more trusting. The life after seems uncertain, more reactionary, more anxious. 
With that day there is a real sense of loss, a loss that continues even after 25 years. For some, it was the loss of loved ones; that loss will never truly go away. There is healing of course, but the loss is still there. Someone is missing. There is a hole that remains. 
For those of us who follow Jesus, we turn to Him for comfort and healing and the strength to continue with hope, because He is our hope. There is a future because He holds us in His hands, and we are eternally safe with Him. There is a peace in that. He is our peace. 
Today, we pray for those who still experience suffering from that day and the days that followed. We pray for healing and wholeness and for God's presence that brings light into the dark corners where grief and sadness hide in the shadows. 
We join with so many others today to pray for our country and for our world; for peace, real peace and for wrongs to be made right and for God to reveal His sovereignty and grace in ways that all may see. 
25 years ago, our world changed. 2,000 years ago, Jesus won victory over death, life out of tragedy, the world changed that day for eternity. We rest in Him and pray for all those who need to feel the arms of their heavenly Father wrapped tightly around them and for those who have yet to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. May He speak comforting words and compelling words to both of these. 
May the Lord bless, you and keep you, may His face shine upon you and be gracious to you, and may He turn His face toward you and give you peace this day, September 11, 2026.
