There’s a lot happening at Bridges, so let’s jump in...
This Sunday, March 29 is Baptism Sunday. Baptism is that step where obedience, faith and love all intersect. Jesus’ command to make disciples by baptizing them and teaching them to obey everything He commanded is at the heart of what we do. Baptism is a word that means “to immerse” and is a symbolic act of spiritual cleansing, as well as identification with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. It is a public action to tell the world and yourself that you are now living a new life in Christ. The old is gone; the new has come. It is an act of love, Christ’s love for us in dying for us and our love for Him in return.
At Bridges, we offer baptism whenever someone is ready to live for Christ, and this Sunday we have one person ready to take that step. It is also open to anyone else who wants to answer God’s leading in this area. Just contact us at info@bridgeschurch.net to find out more.
This is an exciting time, and one of my favorite things to experience at Bridges. Hope you can attend in person or watch online.
Our elders are submitting Laura Mason to you as the candidate for the Children's Ministry Director position. This is a part time position to oversee the Children's Ministry, birth through 5th grade here at Bridges with responsibilities including but not limited to recruiting and training volunteers, choosing curriculum, creating and maintaining safe and inviting environments for children and volunteers, directing VBS, developing outreaches for new families to get connected, equipping and encouraging parents and guardians in being the primary disciple makers in the home, and helping children and families find and follow Jesus.
She has our full endorsement because of her strong testimony, her love for Christ and His kingdom, her history and experience working and serving in various ministries geared toward children, and her passion to help children and their families truly know God.
We are submitting her to you as a step to answer any questions, concerns, or thoughts you may have about her candidacy - you can reply back to this email or call Patrick @ 336-782-3303. This process is open through March 31.
If you are interested in learning more about how you can be involved in Children's Ministry, please respond back to this email and we will get you connected.
Jesus had a big heart for children and so do we here at Bridges. Please be in prayer for Laura and for Bridges as we take this step.
We are also very grateful to Jacob Harden and his almost 11 years of service at Bridges as intern, resident, Youth and then Family Pastor. Jacob grew up at Bridges, and it has been a joy seeing all that God has done in and through him over the years. If you get a chance, please tell him “Thank you” for all he has done.
And don’t forget, Easter is coming very soon, Sunday, April 5. Easter is a great time to invite family, friends, co-workers to join us as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. His life gives us the hope of new life!
It is exciting to see God at work and to be part of His kingdom. Let’s continue to trust Him as we move forward with Him!
