I thank my God every time I remember you. Philippians 1:3

It’s the people. They’re who make it special. God brings together a group of people and forms a church, arranging each of the members as only He can, each with the gifts, talents and abilities needed to be and do His will wherever they are. Each person brings their heart, character, personality and love with them. That’s what makes the church what it is, a unique gift.

The apostle Paul wrote to the Philippian church and told them right up front, “I thank my God every time I remember you.” There was something about his time with that particular group that stood out to him and made him thankful for them. Something about their attitude or perseverance or love for God or love for people. We do know that he appreciated their partnership in sharing the Gospel. Perhaps it was in the way they did that, their devotion and willingness to do what was needed. We don’t know all the specifics, but we do know he was thankful for them.

I can relate to what Paul wrote. I am thankful for you, our Bridges family. I am thankful for your willing hearts... for your devotion to Jesus... for the way you worship... for your willingness to do whatever it takes... for your encouragement... your prayers... your servant’s hearts... for your welcoming spirit... your sincerity and authenticity... for your generosity over the years... for your perseverance and steadfastness... and above all your love for God and for people.

What a gift you are, and I am so grateful.

We want to say, “Thank you” to all of our volunteers in a tangible way – Friday, August 14 with an appreciation dinner for you and your family. It will be catered by City BBQ so there will be no need for anyone to bring anything – just come and share the time together.

Please RSVP by Friday, July 31,  noon, so we know how many people to prepare for and to expect. You can do so by clicking the link below.

This is a small thing, but it represents a great thing – an appreciation for all the people who make Bridges a wonderful family! Thank you for being the church you are.
