Ready for Something New
So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. - 2 Thessalonians 1:11
2023 is here, and the year is out before us, ready to be written. God already knows all the good things He has in store for us; we get to discover it day by day.
Going through Covid was hard. Coming out of it has been even harder. But now it feels like God is about to do something new.
Standing here at the threshold of 2023, there is already a sense of excitement and expectation for what God is doing. It’s as if a small breeze is beginning to fill the sails and things are starting to move forward in a new direction. You can hear it in people’s voices. You can see it in their faces. Prayers are being answered. Inspiration and hope are coming to life. Unity, connection, fellowship and a desire for something even deeper are evident. People are dreaming again of what God can and will do.
The leaders of the church have been praying, fasting, planning and preparing for the coming year, and we are excited to share a new vision for Bridges for 2023 and beyond.
It has been born out of seeking God and listening for His voice. It has not been a quick process but an exciting one, as God has opened doors and created opportunities for learning and collaboration with people from throughout His Kingdom, locally and globally.
This vision will be shared over the next few weeks, and I can’t wait to see it become a reality. Here are some things to look for…
Vision Sunday: January 29 – 1 Service @ 10am followed by lunch together in the Fellowship Hall. Join us as we share the vision for 2023 and beyond. We wanted to get everyone together in the same room to share this moment together and then gather for a meal together, one body with one purpose. Please put this on your calendar and plan to be there
What’s Next?: Tuesday, January 24 @ 6:30-8:00pm. This is our new “first step” in getting connected at Bridges. Come to hear about what the church is about and how to take next steps in your life in Christ at Bridges. To sign up – contact us at info@bridgeschurch.net.
Small Groups: Start the week of February 5. This year there will be an even greater emphasis on helping people build relationships around growing spiritually together in community. Look for more information to come as well as opportunities to join a group.
There is so much more to come, introduced throughout the year, one step at a time. 2023 will be a year of growth, faith, and community, enabled and empowered by the Spirit of God at work in each of us.
Be praying for what God is calling you to be and to do in the coming year. He is going before us, preparing the way in front of us and leading us by His mighty right hand.
