RESURGENCE – the act of rising again; resurrection

This year for Lent, March 2 - April 14 (the days leading up to Easter), we are calling all who call Bridges home to a time of prayer and fasting – to turn to God for RESURGENCE as we look to get moving again as we come out of COVID and seek greater life in Christ.

It's been a tough couple of years for all of us. Sickness, loss, isolation, depression, uncertainty, stagnation - these are all things we have experienced as individuals and as a church.

It has felt like being stuck, powerless in some ways, like being on a sailboat in becalmed waters waiting for the wind.

But now that season seems to be lifting slowly but noticeably. A small wind is beginning to blow. Spring is coming. New life is ahead. Easter is in a few weeks; the celebration of the resurrection of Christ, His defeat of Death, and the promise of new life in Him is just ahead. RESURGENCE is on the horizon.

RESURGENCE is a work of the Holy Spirit. The power comes from Him. Our role is to pray and to be ready for whatever He wants to do.

So, we are calling the church to pray and fast. Here's the plan.

Look for daily notifications from our church app calling us to pray and how to pray that day. When you get it, please just take a moment, pray and then by faith, look for God to work.

An email went out this week asking for people to sign up to take a day during Lent (March 2- April 14) to pray (and for some, to fast). There were instructions and suggestions on how to get the most out of the day.

We are a people in need of RESURGENCE - in our personal lives and in the life of the church. New Life - New Hope - New Strength.

It's time to start really living again. Pray for RESURGENCE and look for God to work in all of our lives.
