In Ezekiel 47:1-12, there is a beautiful vision of a land restored and new life in a barren world. The vision is of a river that flows from the temple. It starts as a trickle over the temple steps and then builds and grows until it is ankle deep, and then knee deep, then waist deep, and then too deep to cross. Wherever this river goes, it brings refreshment and life, abundance and healing.

It is a picture of revival in a land that desperately needs it.

It could be a picture of our own world, starting right here in our community – a world that desperately needs Jesus and the abundant life and salvation that can only be found in Him.

It is a picture of what God can do, and it is a picture of what prayer with faith can do.

Every revival begins with prayer – a burden placed on hearts by God to see Him work and move in people’s hearts.

That is what Awaken Forsyth is all about – it is a movement in our community to pray – to pray for our neighbors, the households all around us. It is a movement to pray for salvation and revival to come into individual lives and into families. It is a prayer for healing and restoration. It is a prayer for new life. And it is a prayer for us as well – for revival in our own hearts and a love for those who are lost and weary and in need of salvation.

Awaken Forsyth starts October 1. It starts small with each of us praying for 3 households a day, but then builds day by day as hundreds and perhaps 1,000’s of us join together in praying for the 188,000 households in the county. It is part of the river that God is creating to bring revival and new life in our community, city, county, state, nation and world. What a great opportunity this is. You can still participate. Just sign up below, and we will send you a list of 100 households or pick up a list on Sunday.

This is where it all begins – prayer. It may start as a trickle and then we look to God to create a river of life flowing forward. Let’s turn our hearts to God in prayer and see what He will do.
