God gives us of the good things in this life,

not only for necessity,

but for delight, that we may not only serve him,

but serve him cheerfully.

Matthew Henry

This Sunday, between services, there will be a special meeting for the presentation of the 2023 -2024 budget. We hope you can attend.

Why do we do this?

  • To inform the church about where we are financially and where we hope to go.
  • To cast vision for the year ahead.
  • To remind ourselves of how God has provided in the past.
  • To inspire us for what He may have for us in the future.
  • To give an opportunity for you to ask questions and learn more.
  • To build up the body of Christ.

Money is just a tool, not an end in itself. Money is great for providing resources that make ministry and mission happen – that’s what matters.

We try to talk about money as little as possible but as much as necessary so that we don’t stress it too much but also not give in to the fear of what people may think. Money can be a touchy subject.

But if we live with the perspective that everything ultimately belongs to God and as stewards our job is to do the best we can with His resources, then we can talk about it with peace and joy.

John Ortberg wrote a book called, “When the Game Is Over, It all Goes Back in the Box” which beside being a long title, is a great view of life. Things are only here for a season, then when the season is over, they are all go away. We only have so long to take care of what God gives us. This gives us an eternal perspective of “things.”

So, we hope you will come this Sunday and either stay after the 9:00am service or come early for the second service. It will run from 10:15-10:45am.

And this year, be ready to respond to whatever God guides you to do financially. Build a life by what you give.
