Hi Bridges!
My name is Brandon Peak and I wanted to introduce not only myself, but also my family. My wife, Danelle, you may have met in small groups or have seen her in the tech booth on Sunday mornings helping out where she can for now. My eldest daughter, Michaela, is the bass guitar and ukulele player in the band. And my youngest daughter, Naomi, can often be found in the children's ministry joyfully helping Jacob and Jill with the little ones. These are the amazing ladies God has blessed me with - and so if you're reading this, and happen to see Danelle, Michaela, or Naomi on a Sunday morning - say "hello" because now you know them too!

A little more about my story:
If you catched the sermon message from back on December 5th of last year, you heard my testimony of salvation - how God set me apart as 'His'. If you have no idea what I'm talking about - jump online or Facebook and check out the second service from that week. :) But to continue that story - almost immediately after my salvation, God introduced me to Danelle. Summer of 2004 we met, three months later I proposed, she passed out on the beach, and by the fall of 2005 we were married. We knew we wanted a family. And so we were blessed with Michaela right away in 2006. Naomi was born in 2008. And off to the races we went - from central Pennsylvania, to Florida, and then to North Carolina at the onset of the covid pandemic. We've moved around - but are thankful and joyful to be here in the beautiful hills of Tobaccoville.

Ministry Leadings:
I characterize the ministries God has placed me in... as seasons. Pennsylvania was a season of exposure. EXPOSURE to godly leaders, godly men/husbands. Exposure to "doing life" in the church but outside of just Sunday mornings. Florida's season was one of being EQUIPPED. It was there that I was given an opportunity to teach and lead. Eventually serving as a Deacon, then Elder, I was able to lead various small groups, devotional programs, a classic Sunday School class for a few years, and a Wednesday night men's group for a number of years as well. God showed me the Spiritual gifting that He wanted to use specifically in teaching, and I was all-in. This actually led me to dig deeper in the pursuit of training to teach - which pushed me to go back to school in 2019. I am currently still working on the Bachelor program (part time obviously) at Eternity Bible College out of Simi Valley, CA. Moving to North Carolina - we were really curious how God would mark the next season.

Serving at Bridges:
So here we are. In that next season. Most recently, as some of you know, there have been some big moves (once again) in my walk with Him. Not moving homes/states this time. But shifting away from my full time architecture gig and into part time ministry work, officially. Patrick, the elders, and staff have been a huge blessing over the past 4-5 months or so. I was able to apprentice-lead a small group and participate in other leadership teams throughout the church. And then the opportunity was presented. I could change my work schedule - go part time - taking 1 day off per week - take the reduction in income - and dedicate that freed up time to ministry as the new "Connections Director" as a volunteer position. After prayer and meditation, once again, the calling was clear, and now - I'm all in - participating in what God is building... any way I can. The primary focus of this position will be to help equip and encourage the small group leaders, and make sure folks in the church (or those who are visiting the church) are getting connected. This connection could be to small groups or to ministry teams, depending on the calling and giftedness of the folks that need to be plugged in. Among other things, that's the primary goal.

Hope & Thanksgiving:
I'll grab this opportunity to speak on hope. I have great hope for what God is doing in our community, what God is doing at Bridges, what God is doing in small groups, and what I'm seeing in the lives of individuals. I am so thankful for our leaders at Bridges, not just Patrick but the elders, the small group and ministry leaders, and all those who give their time for the kingdom. I am both hopeful and thankful for what God may do this summer (and if you couldn't tell - I'm pretty excited about things coming up).

Please know that we are praying for you - and if there's ever anything you'd like to discuss with me, or chat, or bounce ideas, please feel free to snag me on a Sunday, or, my email is always on at bpeak82@gmail.com. I'd love to set up a time to get together.

For His Glory Alone,
Brandon
