Ministry Team Highlight
The Stephen Ministry has impacted Bridges in a powerful way here in its first year at the church. Already they are looking to add more trained team members to meet the needs we are experiencing. Here are some key things you should know about this team led by Tom & Cas Eckert:
What are 3 things everyone should know about the Stephen Ministry?
- Stephen Ministers are members of the congregation who receive special training to provide one-to-one Christian care to people in our congregation and community experiencing challenges in life-grief, loneliness, divorce, hospitalization, disability, job loss, and many other life difficulties.
- A Stephen Minister can help. Stephen Ministers are members of the congregation who listen, care, encourage, and provide emotional and spiritual support to people going through a crisis or a difficult time.
- To learn how to become a Stephen Minister or to receive care from one contact the pastor or a Stephen Leader.
What is one thing we should know about the leaders?
The number 1 thing people should know about us is that we both prematurely lost our spouses which gave us an empathy for the hurting. We find that those going through a tough time may benefit from a person trained to come alongside of them for support and comfort as long as needed.
What does following Jesus look like in your lives?
What following Jesus means to me/us is staying connected to the vine, listening to His voice daily and walking the path He has laid out for us.
