Ministry Team Highlight
Each week in the newsletter, we will be highlighting a different Ministry Team to let everyone know how everything comes together to help make Bridges the place it is.
There are some incredible people doing some incredible things, making it possible to connect with what God is doing here. That is what Ministry Teams are all about.
This week, the spotlight is on the Grounds Team– the team that takes care of our property and gets it prepared each week to welcome guests. This team is led by Bob Fye.
Here are some things about Bob and his team.
3 Things to know about the Grounds Team.
- It is a behind the scenes ministry that most people don't notice until you forget to mow the lawn.
- There is instant gratification when you are done working on the lawn to see a freshly mowed and cared for property.
- Because of the weather and the difficult yard to care for, there are some skills and fortitude involved to carry out all of the chores required.
What is one thing we should know about you?
A verse that has resonated with me for a while now is Matthew 7:24 - "Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock." A hymn that follows that verse is "On Christ the solid rock I stand all other ground is sinking sand.” These words are a reminder for me on who I need to build my life on.
A typical day in my life following Jesus usually starts like this:
I combine a cup of coffee while reading God's Word. They go together really well for me. Also, there is an invitation for the Holy Spirit to speak to me through God's Word. I will then have a conversation with Jesus to talk about what my day should look like with His guidance and direction. I do my best to give Jesus complete authority to have His way on each given day.
