For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you. - Matthew 17:20

Ever happened to you? I heard a song the other day and it was just what I needed to hear at the moment. It was a moment in itself. Uplifting. Encouraging. Hard to put into words. As if God Himself was speaking – beyond the words and music, beyond the message. Just a moment with Him.

Then, a while later, when I went to find the song, I couldn’t remember the name of the song, the lyrics, the singer, nothing. It wasn’t a memory thing; it was a complete block. Nothing. Zilch. Nada. I stared at the computer. Pulled up the station I heard it on, but their “last played” list didn’t go back that far. I searched everything I could think of. Tried to be quiet and pull up the song, but all I could hear was every other song I heard in the meantime.

It took a while. I became a bit focused – obsessed, but still nothing.

So, I sat, quietly. Pulled up a list of songs and then there on the list was the song.

“Speak to the Mountains” – by Chris McClarney.

Maybe, you’ve heard it. If not, the link is below.

So why? I don’t know what mountains you are facing right now, but I suspect you have or have had one. And mountains can take away your joy. They can cause stress, fear, anxiety, despair. They can seem overwhelming. Or they can seem to wear you down after a while, nothing too big but over too much time.

But there are times when they can seem too big and too high and too hard and too far and too much, but God…but God is so much, much bigger, better, stronger, greater than you.

He is faithful. His promise is true.

I can’t put into words what God was saying at that moment – just a sense of His presence – and that is what I needed at that moment. Just to know He is there. To be reminded of Who He is – that it’s not about what I can do, but what He can do. A reminder to take my eyes off the mountains and to put them on Him.

So, speak to the mountain. Tell it it’s time to move. Face that mountain knowing that Jesus is the Overcomer, and it will be all right.

So take a moment if you can. Listen to the song. Let God speak to you, Be encouraged today.

Speak to the Mountains

Why would I worry
When giants come calling my name?
My God is so much bigger than troubles I face
Why would I hunger
For power or riches or fame?
Oh, 'cause my God is so much better than all of these things

So I won't be shaken
I won't be moved
My God is faithful
His promise is true
So I'll speak to the mountains
"Oh, it's time to move
'Cause my God is bigger, better, stronger, greater than you"

My enemies scatter
'Cause they know the battle is done
My God is stronger, the victory's already won
Yeah, He died for my ransom
And rose up on the third day
Oh, 'cause my God is greater than death, hell, and the grave

Oh, I won't be shaken
Oh, I won't be moved
My God is faithful
His promise is true

So I speak to the mountains
"Oh, it's time to move
'Cause my God is bigger, better, stronger, greater than you" oh

There's no mountain too high
No valley too low
There's no fear that I have
He doesn't already know
There's no problem too big
There's no weapon too strong
There is nothing for God that's impossible

There's no mountain too high
No valley too low
There's no fear that I have
He doesn't already know
There's no problem too big
There's no weapon too strong
There is nothing for God that's impossible
(Nothing's impossible)

I won't be shaken
No, I won't be moved
My God is faithful (oh, He's so faithful)
His promise is true

So I speak to the mountains
"Oh, it's time to move
'Cause my God is bigger, better, stronger, greater
Bigger, better, stronger, greater
Bigger, better, stronger, greater
Bigger, better, stronger, greater
Bigger, better, stronger, greater than you"
